If yes, then you may be interested in joining our Professional Development Award (PDA) Delivery Team as an Assessor.

PDA

The Professional Development Award in Scrutiny and Improvement is a new award for inspectors, initially those registered with the Scottish Social Services Council (SSSC). It is endorsed by the Scottish Qualifications Authority (SQA) and SSSC.

The award has been validated by the SQA and we have established ourselves as an accredited centre to teach and assess the award in-house.  For more information about the PDA, please contact Henry Mathias (contact details below).

The role

Candidates who undertake the PDA will need to undertake written and practical work. Your role as an assessor will be to assess the assignments and demonstrate whether the learning outcomes have been met. You will also work with those staff who will undertake a practice observation role to assess how well the learning outcomes have been demonstrated in practice.

Assessors will be part of the PDA team, which includes an assessor from Health Improvement Scotland (HIS), which is responsible for delivering face to face learning days, moderating online discussion and individual tutorial input.

What we are looking for

You must have at least 3 years knowledge and experience of scrutiny and improvement activities and hold a SCQF level 10 qualification in a relevant subject to assess the PDA. Successful post holders will have a personal development plan to ensure during the period of the fixed term contract / secondment that they keep in touch with scrutiny and improvement activities and professional knowledge.
