Experience

Essential:

• Experience of managing scrutiny and/or quality assurance activity.
• Experience of developing and applying quality frameworks to support self-evaluation and improvement.
• Experience of supporting improvement and building capacity through self-evaluation.
• Experience of planning inspections or other structured quality assurance activity, including those delivered in partnership with others.
• Significant experience in practice and management in protection services.
• Experience of stakeholder engagement at both strategic and operational levels, including engagement with chief officers and senior managers.
• Experience of difficult, sensitive and challenging messages to senior officers.
• Experience of producing high quality written reports to publication standard.

Desirable:

• Experience of developing inspection frameworks, models of inspection and inspection methodology together with associated inspection tools.

Education, qualifications and training

Essential:

• Educated to SCQF Level 9 (for example, degree) or equivalent.
• Recognised qualification: Diploma in Social Work (or equivalent); qualification meeting the registration requirements of the General Teaching Council (Scotland); Nursing and Midwifery Council, the General Medical Council or SSSC
• Commitment to own CPD.

Desirable:

• Relevant postgraduate qualification

• Familiarity with EFQM and PSIF quality improvement frameworks.
