Joint update from the Care Inspectorate and Education Scotland on the shared inspection framework for early learning and childcare (ELC) services, including childminding and school-aged childcare in Scotland.
Following publication of the draft framework in November 2023 we issued an online consultation to gather important feedback on the draft.
Here is an infographic detailing the responses we received.
We had 649 responses to the consultation which ran between 22 November 2023 and 19 January 2024. We would like to thank all those who took time out of their very busy schedules to complete the consultation and provide valuable feedback to support the ongoing development of the shared inspection framework.
Analysis of the feedback shows that around two thirds of respondents were broadly positive, however we acknowledge that there is further work to be done before the shared framework is ready to be launched.
Next steps
We are working to address the feedback and issues raised in the consultation as we move forward in developing the shared framework. This includes engaging with our stakeholder group and additional sector professionals as we redesign the content.
We remain committed to delivering a shared framework for the sector in September 2024.
