A trainer programme was developed in 2016 to support the implementation of learning from the Preventing Infection in Care DVD and to build local capacity to deliver the education programme.

The programme provides an opportunity for staff with an education remit working in care homes and adult day care services to enhance their knowledge and skills on infection prevention and control education and support them in implementing this into their local training provision.

NHS Education for Scotland (NES) have so far held 5 cohorts of the trainer programme, two in 2016 and two in 2017 nd one in October 2018. 

Cohort 6 will take place on 21st and 28th February 2019 in Edinburgh.
