Influenza and Pneumococcal vaccination guidance
We have published guidance which gives information about seasonal influenza and pneumococcal vaccination for winter 2011 to 2012.
It explains how vaccines should be supplied and administered to children and adults in residential care services, and will help make sure that:
- service users (or their representative) have consented to have the vaccine
- vaccinations are supplied and administered legally
- vaccinations are stored correctly
- appropriate records are kept
There is a flow-chart which summarises what to do if an adult does not have the capacity to consent to vaccination. Please refer to the consent section of the guidance for more information.

Consultation on the future Care Inspectorate Complaints Procedure
We are carrying out a consultation to help us develop the Care Inspectorate complaints procedure.
Since 1 April 2011 we have been using an interim complaints procedure. We are now seeking your views and invite you to respond to our survey about future arrangements for complaints handling.
