Introducing the project

The Care Inspectorate is undertaking a major initiative to modernise our regulatory systems. Our Stage 2 Digital Transformation project is creating a new, single, unified provider portal.

Designed with a people-centred approach, the new system will be user-friendly, provide a single source of information and significantly improve the efficiency of our interactions with your service. This will ensure both the Care Inspectorate and providers can dedicate more time to delivering high-quality care across Scotland.

Current status

Development of the new platform and key features, including the new provider portal, is progressing well. We are now in the final stages of preparation for our scheduled go-live in early June 2026. This milestone marks a significant step forward in modernising our interactions with the care sector.

What happens next

We are committed to making this transition as smooth as possible for all care providers and services. In the coming weeks and months, you can expect:

  • Regular, detailed updates on what you need to know and how to prepare.
  • The launch of a comprehensive on-boarding support suite, including bitesize videos, FAQs, and guides.
  • A programme of online events to guide you through the new portal.
