Today marks five years since Scotland published The Promise, the report that followed an independent care review requested by the government. On publishing the report, Scotland made a promise to care experienced children and young people that they will grow up loved, safe, and respected.
The Oversight Board holds Scotland to account by checking if the promise is being kept. Today they have published their third report, showing where Scotland is at just now in its journey to keep The Promise. Find out more here.
Aileen Nicol, the promise lead at the Care Inspectorate said: “We are fully committed and working at pace to play our part in making the Promise happen by 2030”.
