Between April and August of this year, the Care Inspectorate successfully completed the first cohort of the Care Home Improvement Programme (CHIP). This programme supports care home staff in implementing quality improvement initiatives to enhance the quality of care for residents.
During this phase, we focused on Greater Glasgow and Clyde, and Forth Valley areas, allowing care homes to establish local connections and receive peer support. Adult care homes that received an evaluation of "adequate" (grade three) during their last inspection were eligible to participate in the programme.
At the recent celebration event for CHIP cohort one, services shared their inspirational quality improvement stories about the positive changes to the lives of the people they support.
