Providers of voluntary services are no longer entitled to free PVG checks for the purposes of care service registration.
Disclosure Scotland has notified the Care Inspectorate and the CRBS (central registering body for Scotland) that voluntary organisations registered with CRBS are not entitled to free PVG checks for the purposes of registration with the Care Inspectorate.
As such, where providers are applying for registration of a care service, individuals will have to apply for scheme membership through the Care Inspectorate and pay the £59 fee.
However where applicants are existing PVG scheme members (for the relevant client group) the Care Inspectorate will be able to accept records up to 3 months old, or will were records are more than 3 months old, ask the applicant/s to apply and pay for an update record.
(The Care Inspectorate is raising various issues regarding the PVG scheme with the Scottish Government and this is one issue which will be included in these discussions).
