We Asked

We were required to review our previous corporate plan, with a view to developing a new corporate plan for the next three years, to set out its vision, objectives and priorities. We asked to hear your views on this and, in particular, on two specific questions in relation to the draft plan. We asked if the draft corporate plan captured the key priorities for the Care Inspectorate and if there was anything else that stakeholders wished to see in the plan.

You Said

The consultation was open from 25 March to 26 April 2019.  In total 54 responses were submitted, from 21 organisations, including local authorities, third sector organisations and membership bodies; 33 internal responses were received from individuals. These responses provided constructive answers and suggestions to the two questions asked as part of the consultation.

In the main, respondents thought the organisation’s priorities had been adequately represented. Respondents also expressed a view for additional points to be more strongly referenced. This included:

  • the current environment relating to public sector reform and policy drivers for change
  • the Health and Social Care Standards
  • supporting health and social care integration
  • the corporate parenting role and involvement role the Care Inspectorate leads on
  • people’s voices being heard; driving change
  • collaboration with the sector

We Did

We took on board all comments and these have been referenced in the revised corporate plan. The draft plan will be considered by the Board on 15 August 2019, with a view to approving this. Following this, we will implement a communications and stakeholder engagement campaign to raise public awareness and understanding of the new corporate plan; this will include internal and external activities.
