A website setup to support improvement across all care services in Scotland had almost half a million page views in the past year.

The Hub was launched by the Care Inspectorate in 2013 to support improvement in the social care and social work sectors - and the site’s popularity continues to grow.

Over the last year (1 Mar 18 – 1 Mar 19) The Hub had around 82,000 users and more than 450,000 page views, an increase of around 14.5% year on year.

The Hub has now had a refresh packing it with even more content to allow users to quickly and easily find all of the information and resources directly relevant to their service in one place.

Peter Macleod, chief executive of the Care Inspectorate said: "We want all care services in Scotland to be world class.

"One of the most important ways we can support all services to reach that standard is to share good practice and innovation and the The Hub is a really valuable way of doing that. We want it to be the go-to site for social care and social work resources in Scotland.

"We have partnered with the Scottish Government to host their new training directory for early-years practitioners, one of the commitments in the Quality Action Plan for delivering Blueprint for 2020: Expansion of Early Learning and Childcare in Scotland.

"The new Hub will also host all Scottish Government funded self-directed support resources in a new library section, which we hope both practitioners and those accessing their own support, their families and carers will use.

"To increase The Hub’s focus on encouraging services to start their own improvement journey, we have also partnered with Social Services Knowledge Scotland (SSKS) to develop a new section on research skills and evidence-informed practice."

From March 2019, visitors to The Hub will find a range of improvement and practice resources not only from the Care Inspectorate, but also from partner bodies such as the Scottish Social Services Council, Healthcare Improvement Scotland, NHS Education for Scotland and Scottish Government.

There is also a wealth of information on national policy and legislation, and subjects relevant to the social care and social work sector in Scotland, the UK and further afield.

The Hub is a central point of access to a wide range of features, including:

  • improvement guidance, advice and resources
  • information on national policy and legislation
  • Care Inspectorate programmes and publications
  • weekly news bulletins
  • the opportunity to create your own personalised library of resources
  • events and training.
