A mobile app developed by the Scottish Antimicrobial Prescribing Group (SAPG) and NHS Education Scotland (NES) is now available to download. This mobile app is one of a portfolio of tools and approaches which the Scottish Antimicrobial Prescribing Group (SAPG) has developed to maximise safe and appropriate antimicrobial prescribing. Antimicrobial resistance poses a significant threat to public health.
The app is accessible via all mobile devices as well as via the web www.antimicrobialcompanion.scot and is available to download free from iTunes and Google Play.
The app will give practitioners quick and easy access to clinical guidance and will support decision making on antibiotic prescribing, including a decision aid to support management of urinary tract infections in older people.
