Each year the SAVE LIVES: Clean Your Hands campaign aims to progress the goal of maintaining a global profile on the importance of hand hygiene in health care and to 'bring people together' in support of hand hygiene improvement globally.
Health Protection Scotland (HPS) are supporting the campaign and have published relevant guidance and materials including the National Infection Prevention and Control Manual (NIPCM) and e-Bug. Information can be found here.
HPS are actively tweeting using the WHO campaign #handhygiene and #antibiotic resistance.
The focus of the campaign is that hand hygiene is at the core of effective infection prevention and control (IPC) to combat antibiotic resistance.
WHO resources are also available, including web banners, posters and supporting materials, which are all co-branded with 'Antibiotics, handle with care' to demonstrate unity between antimicrobial resistance and IPC efforts http://www.who.int/gpsc/5may/2017/en/
