Luminate is back this October for its fifth festival celebrating our creativity as we age. Each year the festival showcases projects and events run by communities and arts organisations throughout Scotland, including theatre, dance, music, visual arts and community projects offering a chance to celebrate creativity, share stories, and to explore what ageing means to all of us.

Luminate includes an independently run programme led by artists, cultural organisations and community groups, and they are now inviting submissions for this programme during October 2016. Events could range from creative projects bringing younger and older people together, to activities in care homes, exhibitions and theatre productions of all ages, to workshops aimed at older people.

If your event is included you will be featured in the brochure which is distributed across Scotland, and you will appear on the Luminate website and in the press and media campaign. You will also have the chance to attend some special events where you will meet other event organisers, and hear about projects taking place elsewhere in the country.

The application form is available at www.luminatescotland.org/luminate-proposal, where you’ll also find useful documents to help prepare your submission and details of the information Luminate ask you to supply. For additional information, or to request a hard copy of the application form, contact Luminate by phone on 0131 668 8066 or by email at This email address is being protected from spambots. For events to be included in both the Luminate 2016 printed programme and on the Luminate website, proposals must be submitted no later than 5pm on Wednesday 29 June. The deadline for events to be included online only is 5pm on Friday 5 August.
