Annette Bruton, Chief Executive, has announced that she will be leaving the Care Inspectorate in the coming months to take up the post of Principal at Edinburgh College.
Paul Edie, Chair of the Care Inspectorate, said:
“I would like to thank Annette for her significant work since joining the Care Inspectorate in 2012. She played a major role in developing specialist teams and shaping the way we currently operate. As Chair, I have always valued her advice and guidance, which has been of support to me. I wish her the very best in her new job. I hope to start recruitment to the post shortly so that a new chief executive is in post as soon as possible, subject to ministerial agreement.”

“The Care Inspectorate does hugely important work and it has been a great privilege to be the Chief Executive.
“I have hugely enjoyed working in the Care Inspectorate, shaping a relatively new body and helping bring together three former organisations into one.
“I would like to thank and to pay tribute to all my colleagues for their extraordinary work in protecting some of the most vulnerable people in society. They work extremely hard, often above and beyond the call of duty.
“I am looking forward to taking up post at Edinburgh College, returning as it is to my professional background in education.”
