Care in our Communities is changing – and for the better! With new Health and Social Care Standards published in June 2017, and changes in the governance of care, we, the Care Inspectorate are embarking on an ambitious programme to enhance our scrutiny approaches. This journey from compliance to collaboration is aimed at improving the experiences and outcomes for everyone involved in care.
As a regulator, we inspect 14,000 care and social work registered care services in Scotland to make sure these services meet the right standards and help them improve where necessary. Our inspectors talk to people using the service, staff and managers. They watch what happens in the service to help assess the quality of care people receive.
We are recruiting Inspectors to support us on our journey to work throughout Scotland within our adults & children’s inspection teams. We are particularly keen to receive applications from those with recent experience with Older People, Children and Young People and Adoption and Fostering experience. For the Early Learning and Childcare team, we are specifically looking for a Gaelic speaking Inspector.
You need to hold a relevant qualification (minimum SCQF Level 9), and be prepared to do a Professional Development Award in Scrutiny and Improvement (Social Services) at SCQF level 10 with appropriate support from the organisation. You also need to be registered with either the Scottish Social Services Council (SSSC) or any other relevant professional body. You must also be willing to travel with occasional overnight stays as required.
If you are improvement focussed, confident and have a passion to make a real difference to people’s lives, then this is the role for you. In return, we will support you to be an Inspector by investing in you! You will have a comprehensive induction, a mentor, a development plan, specialist training and continuous professional developmentthroughout your career with us.
