Joint inspections encompass three phases and take place over 35 weeks from notification to publication of the inspection report. However, the actual time may vary as we do not count school holiday weeks. Inspectors are usually on site in the area for a total of ten days during the second phase.
The three phases of the inspection process are:
- Phase one (weeks 1 - 11): Preparation, including notification and briefings for community planning partners; initial scoping and analysis; engagement with partners; and refining the scope of the inspection.
- Phase two (weeks 12 - 19): On-site activities, including reviewing practice through case file reading and other proportionate activities.
- Phase three (weeks 20 - 35): Reporting, including preparation and publication of the report, an accessible version for young people, and release of an associated media briefing.
