A consultation on the registration and variation processes for regulated care services

We’re reviewing our registration processes and we’d like your views.

The Care Inspectorate are reviewing the way we register care services. We want to make sure people have good information that is easily accessible to help inform their decisions about registering a care service. We also want people to experience an effective assessment process which supports them to deliver high quality services for people experiencing care.

From 1 April 2018, the new Health and Social Care Standards will be used across Scotland. We want to ensure that the standards are integrated into our processes and use them in the decisions we make which support the delivery of good outcomes for people.

We are keen to ensure that the registration process is more efficient and acts as a springboard for continuous improvement. However, we also want to ensure we are responsive to the current care landscape. Whilst we need to continue to assure the public that services are safe, we do not want to stifle innovation or creativity in delivering care which meets people’s needs.

Please take time to give us your views and ideas about how we can achieve this.
