A care home for older people in Cardross must make urgent improvements in the care provided to vulnerable residents, the Care Inspectorate has said.

Inspectors have served a formal Improvement Notice on Clyde View House Care Home following an inspection which raised serious concerns.

The notice lists six areas which require urgent improvement including staffing; ensuring the health, safety and welfare needs of residents are met; and medication practices.

The Improvement Notice says that by 2 May 2018 the care service must “demonstrate to the Care Inspectorate that service user’s personal plans record each individual’s health, safety and welfare needs and record how these will be met.

“Personal plans must be reviewed in every six month period or when there has been a significant change in a service user’s health, welfare or safety needs and must be implemented in the provision of care afforded to service users.”

A spokesperson for the Care Inspectorate said: “The Improvement Notice we have issued clearly lays out the improvements we must see so that the care provided to residents improves quickly.

“We will visit this care home again soon to check on progress and if we are not satisfied that the matters raised are being addressed urgently we will not hesitate to take further action.

“Everyone in Scotland has the right to safe, compassionate care which meets their needs and respects their rights.
