The SSSC have launched a consultation on the revised Codes of Practice for Social Service Workers and Employers and the implementation of a fitness to practise approach to regulation.

The Codes of Practice for Social Service Workers and Employers set out the principles and values for workers and employers in the social service sector. We are reviewing these to make sure they continue to support good practice and reflect changes in policy and practice since they were first published in 2003.

When things go wrong we need to be able to take action and we are updating our approach from a traditional misconduct model to fitness to practise. We are seeking views on the revised Codes and the implementation of the fitness to practise approach in this consultation.
